Default DVD File Converting

For work I need to convert a 5 minute video that we had done on dvd. We bought WinAVI, but it keeps fucking it up, and won't even start.
I just downloaded AutoGK for the avi file, but they want more than one format, since we're a nonprofit and a lot of our targets don't have the latest technology(Lets put it this way, we're getting twice as many VHS tapes as DVDs or CDs. I think we're even getting a couple betamax tapes.)
I think AutoGK will do the converting fine for AVI, but they want WMV and RM also. Any software you guys would recommend? It needs to be easy for them to use too.

RM??? You mean people still use that shitty format?

Convert it to Divx and tell those cheap bastards to DL Winamp for free.

Oh, I've voiced my opinion, but they don't care. They only wanted RM and WMV. I told them I'm doing AVI too, but they really want those. I don't know why.

We're just doing WMV and AVI now.
