Default Another McDonalds Lawsuit

http://www.the-injury-lawyer-directo...s-lawsuit.html

A woman in Rockford, Illinois has filed a lawsuit against McDonalds for the way they treated her on November 3rd, 2006.

Dawn Larson was born with Holt-Oram Syndrome, a genetic disorder causing abnormalities in the hands, limbs and heart. Dawn's small hands are only six inches from her shoulders; throughout her life she has done most things with her feet. She is a perfectly normal woman despite this disability, and a working mother. "I do everyday things like everyday people."

On that day in early November, Dawn pulled up to the McDonalds window and ordered food for her and her sons. She paid the cashier at the first window, handing her credit card to the woman using her foot. She then pulled up to get her food. "The first girl said, ...

dear god I'm not trying to stereotype ... but this paints a picture
'Girl, you ain't got no arms'
and the manager said she couldn't hand me her food and she just kept sticking to the fact that I didn't have no arms and she was disgusted by it. I had the right to eat my dinner and feed my kids and they took that away from me." The manager at that particular McDonalds did eventually agree to hand the food over to Dawn's son.

I really hope this woman gets a load of cash for this bullshit.

ehhh i see the issue, and its bullshit that she didnt get the food handed over

but ........ on the other hand, could it be quite possible that the manager when brought in stated a sanitation concern as the woman was attempting to put his employees in contact with a foot? Thats just asking to introduce disease and dirt into the kitchen environment. I guess if i saw that someone in the chain of command at this mcdonalds attempted to state this point i could understand....but to just say 'girl, you aint got no arms' yea thats total bs ... sue sue sue

drive thru process.
1. order
2. pay (most of the time with cash)
3. pick up food

nowhere between steps 2 and 3 are you washing your hands.

Either way, it's a disability. If someone doesn't have legs, they still get food. If someone doesn't have arms, they should get food.

McDonalds employees are a little like Walmart employees. You get what you pay for. Pay your employees crappy, you're gonna get crappy employees. Why do you think Mickey D's is so close knit with Walmart? :chuckles: I think they're both a plague to America. They foster stupid, fat, ignorant people that contribute to the crummy sterotype of America around the world. I have a terrible experience every time I go to either of these establishments. I don't make a lot of money nor do I pretend to be "higher" than others. But I can't help but think "Damn, I can do better than this" on the rare occasion I find my self at Wally world or Mickey D's. I know it isn't completely on topic and that I'm probably gonna get flamed for this but it's the truth. I do hope this lady get a few bucks if not at least McDonalds loosing a little bit of business. But the latter won't happen because a great majority of people that eat there don't give a flying rat crap about anything except feeding their faces with the feces that McDonalds serves up. :madr:

Done with rant.....

Yeah, MacDonald employees aren't up there on the intelligence and common sense factors.

So the real reason there's a lawsuit here is because McDonald's hired an idiot manager. I bet the woman would have understood a little b.s. from some drive thru moron, but when the manager acted like an asshole as well and lengthened/worsened the situation the woman probably got really pissed off. I also hope she gets a bunch of money out of the situation, and an apology and maybe some sensitivity training for those people.

Exactly. Again, get what you pay for. Manager at Mickey D's = $35000/yr on average? I dunno. Can't be much more than that.

What the hell? What a friggin schmeare. Point in case.

LoL at "sensativity training" though. I recently got that for posting up a pic of brokeback mountain on a coworkers comp when he and another coworker took a 4 day trip in the mountains together. One of them busted up laughing and punched me in the arm when he saw it. The other got all pist and just about cried. Guess we know which one is really the ghey now don't we?
