On another note, contrary to my initial belief, my data cable does in fact charge the phone. It just doesn't show that it's charging and it charges insanely slow. It's gone from 72% to 97% in about 6 hours.
are you plugged into a normal USB port, or low power one such as off your keyboard or monitor?
