My friends girlfriend is leasing a white one. They've "had it" for 2 months, but in actuality it's been in the shop for 3 weeks getting warranty repairs done.
Why not just buy a Kia or Mitsubishi if you love subpar reliability so much?

i got one (mk iv gti), it has been pretty good to me so far, come feb, it will be 5yrs and the only real "vw" problems have been the alternator and starter.
