I'm not saying it's a good idea (it's not ), but IMO it would be one thing to pay $ to ban someone from a certain forum (such as this one) but just stupid to ban someone completely so they couldn't post Q&A in more "serious" forums.

I guess I see your point.

Some of the basement regs have helped me more than once in the past though, so it could still have drawbacks beyond the bounds of the basement.

I mean if it would limit their ability to post. Like 5 posts a day or a longer time limit to post it could be funny. There's plenty of people I'd like to ban for a day or twelve but I dont care for that part too much
