samsung hands down....

Though Sony gets it's screens from Samsung which I find funny.

depends on the setup, and his isn't a Grand Wega.

When we bought our new 50 inch I look at the Sony and Samsung, and under full 1080p process I think the sammy looks better...but the Sony takes 480i/p by a small margin. So regular TV looks a touch better on the Sony.

The Sony he posted is a Grand Wega...same TV as mine except a bigger size. And when I looked at 1080i broadcasts, the Sony was better. The Sammy had a bit of motion blur, and not quite as sharp of picture.

Both are great choices though...I'm just partial to Sony.

hmmm when I looked at them side by side I went with the sammy, and I am partial to sony as well. I guess all I can say is that he should go to the store and see which one he likes more.
