With the iPhone coming out tomorrow, I figured I would swing by my local AT&T store and make some kind of mischief at the expense of the people waiting in line.

I got there, and to my dismay there was not one person waiting in front of the store. At first I pulled up to a parking space right in front of the store to hop out and take a picture, but I quickly spotted a sales person and a rent-a-cop inside. So, I parked kinda far-ish away, and started taking pictures.

First, the empty storefront:

Shortly after taking the last picture I started to gather up my gear, and the sales droid scooted out the door and in my general direction. I was standing next to my car, and the droid (who I had heretofore thought was a guy but was in fact a rather short-haired boyish woman) asked in a pissed off tone, "is there anything in particular I can help you with?!"

Me, very calmly: "Nope."

"What were you taking pictures of?" (more pissed off)

"The shopping center."

"Any particular reason?"

"It's night time. I like taking pictures at night."

With that, she was thoroughly scowling at me, but couldn't think of anything else to say to keep me there. I hopped in my car and drove off.

So, if anyone really wants an iPhone, might not be a bad idea to hang out at the AT&T store on Mineral Point Road in Madison WI.

I don't think people are that stupid to pay $499 for a phone that sucks ass.
