Default cell phone question.

If you buy a phone with a 2 year contract can you still ask the provider to unlock it for you?

depends on the provider and the phone
some phones are a pain to unlock. some providers wont unlock for you. since they want you to pay for the international fees.

when I got my new phones from Cingular, it had this sticker on the screen which said "call ******************* to activate" so I did and it activated.

when you say "unlocking" it is when you unlock the phone so it can be used on any gsm provider, you're not trying to do that so stop saying that.
Have your mom get the phone under her line, when it comes put her sim card in and do what it says. Then put your card in and cheat the system or whatever you wanted to do
