I got owned by Self Checkout. :oh:
I stopped by the grocery store on the way home to pick up a few things. Anywho, I begin to check out and saved my onion for last along with a few light items like my deli sliced ham and turkey.
I select the Vegetable and Fruit button and push the screen for Sweet Onion and I weigh it then the automated female voice says <very loudly>, "Place your sweet onion on the belt."
A couple people looked at me and kind of smirked.
 I got a laugh out of it.

I refuse to use them, I don't work for the store, they aren't paying me and they aren't discounting the items any more than if I ran through the regular checkout line. I also refuse to bag my stuff for the same reasons.

How is that, I'm not getting any additional discount for doing the store's work. They are saving labor costs and should then pass that on to the consumer.

I use them because most people rather use a real checker leaving the self check line shorter. Saving time > *
But I hate it when you get computer illerate people trying to use them
