Even the fries are cooked differently each time. Sometimes you get toasty fries and some times you get a good batch that makes you want to order more.
Therefore, give in an out another shot. Maybe try another location. You said that they were busy. Try it when they're not?

This is so true. Most cooks that work at in-n-out take pride in their burgers. The reason why it probably didn't taste as good is because it was busy. They're just trying to move orders as quickly as possible so the quality suffers a little. But if you go at a time when there's nobody around (if that's possible), they'll take the time to make your burger look and taste right.

I was kind of the same as well. I was good the first time but it wasn't like mind blowing. the 2nd time you have it, its just so good and you crave it from that point on.:yumyum:

Gonna get me some In-n-Out this weekend while I'm in Vegas. I've been looking forward to it since the last thread a couple of weeks ago. :yumyum:

oh for the love of god! Now I want an double-double animal style w/ well done fries!!!

As to the fresh fries, its def. a taste that many don't like. Without blanching, potato starch/sugar is a different taste....but, man do i love it!
