i've heard that you need a hard drive to play xbox 1 games in an xbox 360. i just have the core system, so do i need to buy an hd to play original xbox games?

yes, you need a hard drive, normal xbox games are played thru an emulator which is downloaded onto the hard drive.

and some games dont work. there's a list of what works on their website.

i know when i play simpsons road rage on 360 some sounds dont work. game itself plays fine though.

 

I think it's also because the games utilized the hard-drive so much for caching things, such as those mini load points in Halo
