He just plugged in a new ps and its the same deal. No beeps.

I had this happen twice. Once was HD, I had to reinstall Windows. The second time MB fried.

I'm surprised.. Wouldn't the HD give some beep notification? Wouldn't the BIOS still post considering its separate ROM?

He didn't plug in the HD or the cd-tray. He just wanted to get some sort of beep notification. I couldn't convince him otherwise, I tired him out with all of my bossy commands.

the old PS might have failed and killed the mobo with it..... ive seen it happen. :hs:

I was thinking it might be a combination too. Like a power surge that just fried everything one night. I mean the PS should have some sort of protection (the newer ones do anyway) and I only built this computer recently like last summer.
