:lmfao:

You think SP1 is going to fix the issues?

Damn you don't know shit about MS do you?

Anyone who has used an MS machine for more than one OS change knows nothing really gets fixed until at least SP2 and you only DL every other service pack because they tend to create more flaws than they fix during 1st, 3rd and 5th service packs.

Vista has been torn to shreds by reviewers, users, geeks and casual users because of hardware and software compatibility issues. It is making XP MCE look good and actually gives something for ME to look down on finally.

Exactly! It took Windows 2000 4 service packs to finally be stable :P And Windows XP ended up with more issues than fixed in Sp1.

People probably started out saying XP sucked...now all the sudden it is the best thing since sliced bread (in the PC world).
Vista is proof of the Peter Principle applied to computer operating systems. They've tried so hard to make this OS more secure that they've loaded Vista with stuff that the average user will simply turn off. ("The more you tighten your grip, Tarkin, the more star systems will slip through your fingers.")

Further, it's change for the sake of change. Aside from the annoying security features, none of the changes were really necessary. They look nice, but that's all.

They've effectively killed backward compatibility with hundreds of pieces of software that businesses use every day, and will be using for years to come. In my office, for example, the company mandates a single e-mail client (we don't use Outlook), and that client will not install on Vista without workarounds that take almost 20 minutes per computer. Much of the software my business uses, aside from Office, will not run at all on Vista and requires that the user be an admin-equivalent. I'm seeing and hearing that installing printers which are shared from a server is almost impossible, again requiring workarounds. A new OS is NOT supposed to make using the computer more difficult.

You can bet that the moment any Vista Business machine enters my facility, I will be taking full advantage of the EULA provision that permits a downgrade to XP Professional. The machine will be wiped and reloaded with XP...and I'll give up XP when they pry it from my cold, dead hands.

I'm hoping Vista becomes the next Bob.

Vista can fall in a hole. I'd rather know what the hell is going on with my computer.

The technical term for what Vista does to it's users is "sandboxing" and to be honest, its not all that far off from treating us like kids in, well, a sandbox.

There is nothing superior in Vista that makes it superior to XP at all except a over gaudy interface.

The only thing I like about Vista it the 3 tier admin setup: Admin, Super Admin, Limited User.

XP is just Admin and Limited User which is how it gets exploited so easily because by default you are Admin where in Vista you are Super Admin which is why the stupid UAC comes up :P

XP has way better hardware support, way better user support and the only thing Vista has over XP is DX10 which right now is just a bunch of hype.

Super admin? WTF?

That makes no sense unless looking at things from a network POV. Plus XP has user defined privileges already. You can set by personal user or group, and place users in custom groups.

sounds like a bunch of extra crap to me.

About the only thing Billy could do to get me to buy this hunk of shit is to have a plug in added to s@# my cock.
