Lemon Law
Here is a serious question...
what is the specific laws on the "lemon law".
my parents have a 2005 Matrix, and periodically when driving it you can hear a very high pitched "hum", coming from the front end.
My parents have brought it to the dealer twice already and twice they told us they fixed the problem. We just got it back from a 2 day wait and they told us that they replaced the intake manifold and they said that with this fix and the combined fix of the intake manifold it is definitely fixed. well the dealer is about 15-20 miles away and turning into our drive way it "hummed" louder then before.
1) I believe with the lemon law 3 times to fix a problem and they have to replace the vehicle.
2) Has any one here had this problem in any car?

I'm not sure about the lemon law in NY but I believe if on the 4th time the problem isn't fixed it is considered a lemon. Has to be the same problem though, i.e problem with water pump (fixed/replaced 4 times and same problem).

It is presumed that there has been a reasonable number of attempts to repair a problem if, during the first 18,000 miles of operation or two years from the original delivery date, whichever comes first, either (a) the manufacturer (or its authorized dealer) has had an opportunity to repair the same problem four or more times and the problem continued to exist at the end of the fourth repair attempt; or (b) the car was out of service by reason of repair for a cumulative total of 30 or more calendar days for one or more problems.
looks like they get one more try

so i was reading some of the links you guys posted ( my parents give their thanks) and it says they can get the full refund of their money of the purchase price. seems like a good deal to me.
