has she given you any indication she might be receptive? you know, like given you a look, or a flirty smile or anything? From my experience in college Art professors are very social people and often you'll find them at coffee shops around campus having a lively discourse with students. Maybe invite her for coffee to discuss whatever art you're into.
Well.. yes and no... I've given her rides to the train station.. (cause she lives in NY and teaches in Jersey) and one or two outside school interactions.. and.. we've had some... "hahaha that was weird" moments.. but nothing distinctive. And you're deffinatly on the ball about the whole.. artsy social thing.. she's very social.. so it's hard to tell if it's just her nature. Don't get me wrong.. if I got a clear sign... I wouldn't hesitate.. I just don't want to throw myself in an awkward situation.. cause she's a great reference to have career wise, as well.
Go for it, she isn't your teacher now so there should be no problem.
Unless of course she doesn't swing that way and takes offense...then you may be blowing a personal reccomendation.
Exactly my hesitation... I'd love to work with her professionaly in the future..
I don't think she would be offended.. because she's dropped several gay references regarding friends of hers and what not. But.. nothing screaming.. "yes I am a lesbian.. " But.. I'd rather build a less complicated bond then just bouncing right off the fact of... "HEY I THINK YOU'RE HOT!"
I wanna work my way up... lol.. but I still feel like a big chicken.
regardless of the sex, the attraction between two people becomes obvious by the actions of the initiator. A woman can catch a man's eye and vice versa and you just KNOW there's the potential for chemistry there. I'm sure it would be the same with you ex professor.
tell her you want to paint a picture of her nude just like in titanic
LOL... Ironically... she used to model for figure drawing classes when she was in college. The second class I had her for was a Figure drawing class.. and one day.. the model didn't show up... so she's all.. "I'll do it... but.. I'll be leaving my clothes on" I wanted to cry.
