Did you have to install this underneath the keyboard or does your Dell have the panel underneath that laptop that you just open and insert the card?

I just installed a Novatel EVDO card in my Latitude D620. I got some in for testing as opposed to using external cards. IMO, PCMCIA add on cards are much better. You get increased signal and they are easier to swap in/out.

so do most laptops. But this is Dell's bottom of the line model. My wife's parents don't have a lot of money and they wanted to buy her a laptop so they got her this one. They only paid $100 for it and once I get the wireless working right it will do everything she needs.

 I bet he was.

I just took the LCD screen off (it was actually very easy) and checked to make sure there wasn't an antenna. There wasn't . So I picked a pair up on ebay and I will install them next week. Looks pretty easy and now her laptop will have 2 antennas instead of 1. (not that special many laptops have 2 antennas but low end dells usually only come with 1)
