Default Interesting Vista problem.
So I start videos sometimes and the file will play, the sound will be on, but WMP won't open, so I have to open it and there it is. It's not hiding in the background, it's not on the toolbar...just not opened up...

Weird. Anyone else get this sometimes?

check for wmplayer in the task manager and kill it.

install linux.

i did 2 weeks ago and i couldn't be happier.

my experience with vista has not been pleasant so far... but i'd do what jani said- find the task in the task manager and kill it.
