While Simpsons may go on forever, it really ran out of steam after about season 10. You can only get so much mileage out of a certain set of characters before it just seems rehashed. I'd rather have 7 good seasons than 7 good seasons and 3 more crappy seasons. The show's writers and actors can go on and do other new, better things rather than kick a dead horse.

Case in point- one of my favorite shows, Stargate SG-1 (yes I'm a nerd), should have ended after Season 8 but instead they've kept it around for a rather lackluster 2 more seasons.

 

Anyone who has a better half will now that watching Gilmore Girls and Greys Anatmoy is a religous thing for them like guys watching Prison Break and 24.

My gf is gonna hate this but she knew it was coming!
