Which color do people usually wear with gray dress pants?

And it is ultimately tacky to wear a black suit coat with it?

whats the context of the situation? to play it safe, id wear a nicely ironed white shirt w/ the pants. any pictures of shirts and pants?

im sure all the other shirts would work well, too, minus the lighter shades of the same color

If the pants are dark grey, go with a sky / baby / light blue shirt.
If the pants are a light grey, go with a white shirt.

never go with a deep / royal blue.
