Yea stay getting checked cause the earlier the better and hopefully you won't be affected by it.

Thanks, sorry to hear about your dad. I hope it's more than 5 more yrs too, just keep doing what you're doing. I'm sure he's happy with the time he spends with the family. :hs:

Yea, cancer that's known to run in family is a scary thing. Make sure you're checked once in a while for anything.

The lesson is: Don't think you're invulnerable. Get yourself checked...at least a yearly physical with the full battery of tests. Early detection often means a cure.
Very true, I don't think i'm invulnerable at all, although I did when I was in my teens. Glad to see you've beaten it and continue to stay clear of anything in the future.

I lost my oldest sister to Breast Cancer in 1993

she was only 27 years old, with three kids.

Words could never express the loss I feel to this day

Exactly what's happening to my gf's dad except it went from the colon to the kidneys first.

How long was he able to stay with you guys before it spread.....if you don't me asking?

He lasted 3 years to the day after he was diagnosed. It was already in his liver and elsewhere when he was diagnosed.

Was doing real good for a long time, but eventually the chemo took its toll on his body. Around Christmas he decided to enter home hospice care, and he lasted nearly 4 months in hospice.
