I need a reliablelaptop for under $500
Any Ideas?
Or should I just swipe one off Ebay?

I too need a decent laptop for my time here at Keesler, however, I'm in the dark on laptops in the performance inverse portionality to price field.

whats the specs on that acer?
I'd look at something at least 1.8ghz. 1gb ram and 5400 or 7200 rpm hard drive.

I have a beat up gateway that needs a new hd. I will sell it cheap before I ebay it.

Acers are good, at least the ones I have used. That has a Celeron processor. It would be fine if you are just doing web/word and other basic tasks, but I stay away from Celeron myself.
