Default Pennsylvania peeps, need your help. Selling a car. Notary?

Kid tells me I need to fill out my portion of the title in the presence of a notary.

http://www.dmv.org/pa-pennsylvania/title-transfers.php

Says he needs to fill out his portion with one. Discuss.

BTW, this will be an out of state purchase for him. I reside in WV.

As far as I know you both have to be in the presence of a notary to sign certain things infront of him. You dont have to be there at the same time though.

I sold a car and signed the title over to the buyer, without going to a notary. It was then an "open title." Might be different when dealing with somebody out of state though.

But both of us need to go to the same notary? I've never dealt with one. I'm just used to filling out the title and a bill of sale. Everyone wants my money :madr:
