do tires expire?

Default do tires expire?

i'm running thin on my current set.
i still got my stock wheels with almost brand new tires on them. but those tires are from 2001. are they still good??
I dont wanna get a flat daily driving..

I think I can still use my stockers from last year when I get my Volks fixed and powdercoated...

Usually the life span of tires are 4 years. If you tires aren't dry rotted or cracked then they should be fine for now. I'd save for a new set though.

car tires aren't as sensitive to the age limit as motorcycle and hyperformance tires. Just check for dry rot and you'll be fine.

my azenis lasted me 25k miles.. you drive 50k a year?

If you rub your tires with vaseline they will last longer in storage. rub them down then place them in tire bags for long term storage (winter etc.)

there's an expiration date on the sidewall next to the traction rating.

Mine last about 15k generally, when I start driving and autocrossing a lot more when it gets nice out I go through them fast, not much wear in the winter.
