learned something today I thought the first type was also called stripper clip

 

I was reading something on this design clip and can't remember the name of it. I believe if I remember right it is an M clip and goes directly in the weapon it is intended for but I very well could be wrong.

Not real familiar with them and don't think they are in use very much anymore.

 

Yea I was going to say. I think the first one goes right into the rifle...like a magazine. Could be wrong though. Anyone know what that goes into?

 

john is right, it does go into the weapon. m1 garand I believe. during WWII germans would listen for the clip? to eject after the last shot, which made a very distinct PLING sound.

Yea...its a bad pic. But I think it does belong to the M1 Garand.

Yeah the clang is very distinct in fact if you ever play Medal Of Honor you will know the sound very well. If you ever fire a real one the sound is almost exactly the same and everyone knows it.

my gramps got a M1 garand we shoot time to time...fucking kicks like a mule but accurate as hell... we got prolly 20-30 of those clips

Not a stripper though. It goes in the rifle and remains there till you eject it.
