Default EBAY question

Hey guys, I'm thinking about selling something on EBay. I've only delt with EBAY no other time. I had a friend sell smething for me. But I came across a deal and bought a VGX-XL1A (Sony Media Center System) which came with the 200 DVD/cd changer and STR-D865 with speakers and all. I paid 100$ for all of it, looking to make some $$ off of it. The STR-D865 only goes for about 50-100$ but the VGX-XL1 is goin from $800-$1400+.

My question is if i post the VGX-XL1A for sale with a buy it now of like 1k$ and i state that i will throw in the STR-D865 if the buy it now is met, will people actually be more likely to buy it now, or is that to much stuff to deal with? Just wanted some opinions....

I think so. A lot of times if you add incentives it makres people more likely to go with the Buy It NOw feature rather than having to bid on it. I've bought things with the feature because they threw in something extra and free shipping or whatever. I'd say it helps

Not really. I have better luck starting low. List that the retail is worth so and so in the distribution. Also list it for 10 days.

I was thinking of throwing that surround sound system and free shipping if they do the buy it now option. I'm needing the money kinda quick. The quicker the better, thats the only reason i was asking. Otherwise i would just post them seperatly.

1. if you have 0 feedback, or even anything under 100, a $1000 BIN will do you no good. Nobody trusts you.

2. ebay is more than just listing items and hoping they'd fly. It's all about timing, keywords, a clean description, and good pictures.

When you do take pictures of this product, put it on a nice, clean, bedsheet. Also, put post-it's with your seller name, right onto the machine.

As far as pricing goes ... put a BIN on it which undercuts the next guy by atleast $50. Don't get greedy, and a profit is a profit. With the time of year, nearing tax time, I doubt hitting over $1000 will be easy.

True, I have thought about all of this. I guess i have to start somewhere though if i want to start selling things on e-bay. The only other one on EBay is up to 200+ right now, but its scratched and dented up and such. There is one that is close to this one witha BIN at 1400$. Its sitting at about 350$ right now. This one I have is really nice, just got a good deal on it because i use to work with Sony and it was sittin around the office. I will hook it up and take pics of it actually running properly and any other pictures they ask. I just really dont need it, i have enought electronics around the house. Its a nice set up though, actually wish i had the room to keep it.

Another question...... is it better to part out a car on ebay or just sell it in tact for parts? Speaking of a 91 240sx specifically.....

i recommend a low starting price to attract buyers

ps - you can't use BIN if you have less than 10 feedback

This one isn't wrecked just has a blown motor, and needs a paint job.
