I have money saved up in my checking account.
but at least to me, it doesn't make sense to have money in a savings account only earning 3-4% when you can easily triple that with minimal risk :dunno:

With Money Market accounts available that do basically the same thing as Savings accounts, yet generally provide better interest rates, I don't see the point in a Savings account.
I've got a CapitalOne money market account that has no minimum balance requirements and a 5% APR.

there was this book i read ( cant remember the name ) but, one of the things that the author explained was the difference between a rich man and a poor man.
rich man = keep investing his money
poor man = saves his money.
rich man = keep investing his money
poor man = saves his money.

I have a savings account, use it for buying presents for different occasions. I also save my dollar bills in a jar...at the end of every day.
