Okay, let me explain further. I have done some reading and the theory is that the internet; webpages, blogs, message boards, usenet, etc are just little conversations. These small conversations connect everyone to make one large, continuous conversation. The theory makes sense and when you apply it to business, avoiding versus embracing the internet will hurt you more than help you.

it really is isn't it...

everything you're doing on the net is near-simultaineous(sp?) so conversations and stuff spill over, and looking at the big picture, something you said is probably effecting at least two or three other conversations at nearly the exact same time.

I would agree. The internet is essentially information being conversed between people. I wouldn't say everything on the internet is direct conversation because the target audience of most things on the internet is huge. But yeah, it's people talking to people.

eh, not to undermine mr dweezel's "epiphany", but its not old news that the internet was started as a way of sharing pieces of various information, which is basically the same thing as a conventional conversation. so nothings really changed, although one could argue the quality of information available

so i guess its not really a theory if thats what it is :hsdunno:
