Default computer help v.buyinganewcomputer

Alright so I'm going to Best Buy tomorrow to check out the computers that they have. I'm looking to get a new computer but I'm not sure yet if I want to go with a laptop or a pc. My budget is probably only $700-$800. I don't know that much about computers so I'm not really sure what I should really be looking at. I'd like for it to have a DVD burner, 80 GB or so harddrive, and a decent processor. So what should I look for?

Also, is every new computer "Vista-ready" or should I make sure to get one that is?

Any new computer you buy now is gonna come pre-loaded with windows vista. $800 should buy you a decent desktop, but it's not gonna buy that great of a laptop, so I'd go for a desktop. You also may want to check out dell; for $800 im sure you could get a good duo core system with a 3 year warranty.

buy it online. More pc for cheaper.

Any pc in the last 2 years can run Vista... but I wouldn't bother with vista yet. It's still not ready. Stick with XP for now, don't worry about Vista.
