Canon A710 IS. 6X optical zoom, 7.1MP, image stabilization, 640x480 movies. SD series is too feminine for my tastes.

 

This is coming from a straight up homo, so if it's too girlie for him, you may want to look elsewhere.

 

get the 6mp that spanky posted & use the difference to buy a big memory card. unless you are doing pro quality work like nightshade, anything over 4-6mp is senseless.

i have a 6mp w/ a 512mb card & @ 2048x1536 pic size i can store about 600 pics. that size gives me the flexibility to crop & still be plenty big enought for very good resolution for 8x10 prints
