my sister chose the shot. u can only be on it for 2 yrs. it seriously thins out your bones. she didnt gain wt she lost it and she was thin to start. her bones look like that of an 80 yr old in her bone scan. it happens due to lack of periods. she is on the yasmin pill now. the ring can be removed during sex u have to remember to put it back in after. the ring and patch do not go through your liver. these 2 forms start working immediately, unlike the pill which u have to take an entire pack to get the blood levels up to prevent pregnancies. the shot is good for 3 months that will give your girlfriend some time to see if she likes it and she can switch to something else if she prefers. all the forms of hormonal birth control carry risks. the cost and convenience vary also.

 

Just keep an eye on her then. Don't take it TOO personal if she's starts getting moody or snappy. Those hormones are no joke. Hopefully she does fine with it.

my ex was on the injections and she didnt gain any weight...plus she didnt have to worry about remembering the pill. I dunno why you are gettin so worked up about it. I am sure she discussed the options with her DOCTOR and came to the best conclusion for her. No offense but I dont think you have any say on the way in which she chooses birth control. Hell be happy she is on it at all.

 

actually...she didnt see a doctor she went to a clinic where the counselor gave her no information on birth control just simply asked her what type of bc would she like, had her sign some papers and then injected her. The reason i'm getting worked up is the possible side effects of the shot. It's not like it's one of those rare never before happened except for when jesus came to earth symptoms. But when you read online about stuff and have people on the same forum that you are on that share stories, it makes it a little medium rare then.
