The initial withdrawl only lasts a few days, less if you're drinking lots of water and working out.

congrats! its a hard habit to break! both my parents were chain smokers. im not a smoker and neither r any of my sibs. start exercising so u dont put on 10 to 15 lbs. depending on how long u have smoked the lungs go through some changes when a smoker stops. they become inflamed so to speak, get alittle wet from the reaction of withdrawl. this doesnt last long. you see this alot in patients that have smoked many cigs for yrs.they will have increased respiratory problems from this reaction. once it passes and it does, timing everyone is different, they get better. most of them have copd so stopping makes them feel like they r drowning but they r not. the body absorbs the reaction and it exits.

Sacrafice now for later, after I saw what cigs did to my aunt....I would never touch one. :happysad:

Friend of mine started and said she could stop....been 2 yrs and she can't, she gets bronc. alot too.

Tough it out and in the long run you'll realize this was one of the best decisions you ever made.
