Default i would hate to not be able to communicate

we have a resident in our building that can no longer talk or write. well, he can talk, but it's all mumbles. nothing makes sense. it's so sad because in his head he hears what he's trying to say, but when it comes out, it's jibberish. so frustrating for the poor guy. and he used to be an electrical engineer that was wicked smart according to his sister.

The medical industry has been making great strides in technology involving the translation of brain waves into speech and images. Maybe soon they will have something practical for him?

yeah. i looked it up and he was an "isotope technician", not an electrical engineer. i guess he made some invention in the medical field and made a bunch of money, but then spent it all. :dunno:
