girlfriends and video games
Spin off topic from the 19.3Sec thread ...
Spoken like a true friend :wtc: I'm glad you were around for when me and my ex went through it, and you're right about one thing...i've been giving my girl the best of treatment. Maybe i should slow it down a little bit.
It's just bullshit tactic after tactic.
When a guy is in a relationship, sometimes, they often pre-wife the girl. The guy will give them the best treatment, nights out, nights in, and become an overall provider. Guys don't ignore the warning signs of a failed relationship, it's just that girls don't fucking communicate their issues clearly enough.
They don't say what they mean. They often beat around the topic, throw hints, and assume that all is known. If a guy knows his car is broken, he does his best to fix it. No guy will ever fix anything that isn't broken. If the guy has no idea the relationship is broken, he won't fix it.
Stuff breaks down over time, but things snap over night. Relationships fail for a number of reasons.
Girls often need to have their senses reset too. If you constantly give a girl the best treatment, then it becomes standard. You then have to do something above and beyond what you're already doing in order to jerk a reaction out of them ... but we never mention this ... guys are natural providers. If you can't make your girl happy, you fail.
So ... onto the breakup situations.
Things will hit a boiling point. It's not that the girl has enough power to do everything on her own, there's some sort of outside influence. It could be TV, the internet, friends, another guy ... something ... but there's an outside influence to push the girl out of her comfort zone.
Girls aren't ones to take risks with relationships. Before taking the next plunge, they often stand in both doorways. One is the familiar, one is the "new" (a girl will never admit the "new" is "unknown" ... they don't do things like that.) So, to keep the old door open, they'll say just about anything to prolong the shutting. Instead of it SLAMMING shut, they'll say words to have it creek to a lock.
All the while, she's already mentally gone.
I'm here for you guys. Not everyone sees this, but god help me, it's happened over 20X in my 5 years here.

I say one thing that i actually think you're right about drew is this. On Mondays i pick my girl up...get back to my place...i plop down on the couch, throw on the Xbox headset and start playing Rainbow Six while she sits there and watch. I can tell im not boring her cus she either cuddles up next to me, or gets more into the match then i do. The best thing about it is, even if she wasnt in my life, i would still be doing the exact same thing (minus the picking her up part) so it feels like im still by myself yet i am in good company at the same time.

:10q: :10q: it's been a long time running...but we'll just have to wait and see over time. I noticed one thing also which drew touched on. Whenever she goes out with the friends or just goes out in general she tells me about it, usually i dont mind, but it's always cool that she asks and everything.
But enough about me, I dont think he's going to come back since he cant bear the "I told you so's" that's he's in for.

my gf purchased a Pink Nintendo DS Lite. We TetrisDS battle constantly. She also purchased an NDS Development kit (M3 Simply).
On November 19th, she even stood in front of a Toy's R Us with me on Wii launch day. At the register, she purchased 3 more games than I did.
She even camped for a 360
I'm fortunate. :wtc:

I once met this cute girl at the library, not hot, but cute, she was into games, we talked for hours.... She was half filipina, stupid me didn't get her number  She was so awesome, I think she may have been the one because I'm not attracted to asian girls, but her, she was so cool :wtc:
