Default Thinking about building myself a new gaming system...

cpu intel 6600
vid. nvidia 8800GT*
about 2GB of RAM
couple of 750GB HDDs
one of them new 850W PS
foxconn MB
and one of them new fangled case.

I already got the LCD monitor so no need to get one of them. Same with mouse/keyboard.

not sure what else I need.

I don't feel like running SLI or OC.

my current rig is about 2 years old running intel 2.4GHz p4 and nvida 6800.

I feel i need an upgrade

6600 should suffice for the next year or two and i doubt any performance gain will be seen with more ram

Have you looked into a Raptor HDD? The 10k RPM's are nice for load times and games.

i'm sure the 15K scsi with 16mb of cache will blow it out of the water
