Default anyone a CCNP or CCIE?

i have no knowledge about the certs, but was wondering what it takes to get them? and generally how long it takes, what classes are needed, and when the exams are administered.

workin on CCNP right now.

1 test down
3 to go

CCNP is just 4 exams. go to prometric.com to schedule the exams. they're just CBT exams so you can take them pretty much anytime. i've been taking exams at IVC cuz they're the only place near me that administers them on the weekend.

CCIE requires written and lab

you can take written at any prometric center that offers it....after that, you have to take the lab within 18 months. lab is only offered a few times a year, and you have to take it in San Jose

you dont have to take classes if you dont want. you can self study. there is nothing required before you take the exams.

however, CCNP does have a prereq of having your CCNA

i took some cisco classes before. the tests for those certifications are pretty hard. the ccna one wasn't too bad, the whole thing was just a test on the computer. but the ccnp and ccie tests require practical labs as well.
