Default Anyone use Alltel?

Just curious as to what your experience has been? I'm seriously thinking about switching us over from Cingular to Alltel. That My Circle deal is really tempting since I have a lot of friends & family in other states.

i had alltel when i was in northern michigan...it sucked when i had it. now its much much better, my mom dad and two sisters are on it up there, and it works great, and when they come down to visit it works fine as well. couple of the bosses use it as we have some sort of corporate account with them...i know in GR its got quite good service

Check out their coverage maps. They have a ton of coverage in rural areas but some of their cities...ehhh not so much. They depend on roaming agreements with Verizon and Sprint, which those companies are interested in because Alltel has better rural coverage than they do.

I've used it for the past 3 years and it has been fine. Few dead spots here and there but nothing out of the normal, especially since I live right on the ocean. I've only had one bad experience and that was down in the keys... also been to Michigan a few times, the GR area, and I never had a problem.

From what I've seen, their coverage is widespread. I just got 5 8703 Blackberry's in at work from them since we are switching a lot of users over from their Sprint 7520's.

My boss and I were invited to an event put on by them the other night. We primarily went for the free EVDO cards they were giving out with 30 days service. h:

They definitely are behind in pushing out RevA. I spoke with one of their engineers and he said it wouldn't be offered till possibly late '07, and into 2008.
