Default paypal dispute ques.

So I bought this set of headlights off of ebay to replace my pass. side cause I hit a deer. Basically they came and the pass. side was all smashed up so I file a claim a month later they say I may be entitled to a refund. the only catch is I have to mail them back, and I know for a fact paypal can only refund me what the guy has in his account. If he pulled all his money out I get nothing. Although the guy is still using ebay so I think there is a chance he is dumb enough to still have moneys in his account.... So right now I have three options.

A. Mail back both headlights and potentially get about 100 of my 150 back, but I could also get 0.

B. close the dispute and sell drivers side on ebay, get $30-50

C. Mail this jackass some roadkill so I can put the tracking number into PP and claim I mailed him the headlights.

How about sending back the bad headlight and requesting half the money back? Or do they require you to send both? That way you aren't out both the headlights if the guy shafts you (only shipping on the bad one).

file the dispute. Even if he has a lesser balance than what your refund should be his account will go into a negative state and he will have to reimburse paypal.

yeah thats what im thinking, I really can't cancel the dispute on principle. Even if I get nothing i will get some satisfaction knowing his paypal account got locked and he won't be able to sell stuff ebay as easily.

you can still sell stuff. Paypal wont stop you from making money cause then they lose money. If his account goes into a negative state no matter what monies are sent to his paypal, they will automatically deduct it.

paypal will send you what you paid, even if there is nothing in his account. they'll just make his account negative
