More and more people are starting to do this...and it's getting harder and harder to get into and be successful.

1. its not as easy to get a deal as it might appear.
2. the "potential" to make money is huge.
3. the "potential" to make nothing is huge.

God I swear...anytime I run into someone from high school and I know they're a loser, they always say "oh yeah...I'm getting into real estate". It's something losers say to make it sound like they're successful.

i have a broker's license here in california.

california has two types of re licenses.. sales and broker.

with a sales license, you must work under a licensed broker to conduct re activities.

with a brokers license, you can start up your own shop, or work as a sales person.

there are tons of areas of real estate you can go into. figure out what you want and then go for it. just to let you know, there are wayy too many sales agents out there to compete with. and in real estate, its all about the commissions.

i agree w/ it depending a lot on location. also, you gotta have a lot of intrinsic motivation. i have an older friend whos a realtor and kicks some serious ass, but he works really REALLY hard. at one point he said he was avg'ing 200 miles a day for a few weeks
