You can tell because there is no real character development during that section. You'll notice nothing big happened at all.

Haha. Oops! All the main characters got nerf'd, except for Ishida, who got really nerf'd, and then NOTHING HAPPENS. The character design for the new modified souls is kinda crappy too. And I bet at the end of the arc all the new modified souls die
