Ive known about this for almost 6 or 7 years...its nothing new. Its just people are becoming more aware of it and its becoming more common because as you can see, a child can do it.

I just looked and I have a Schlage deadbolt and lock on my door.

yup this has been around for a long time. and just cuzz you have a dead bolt dosent mean you are safe. and making a bump key is not that hard. only way to be safe is a keyless locks. were thinking of putting them in the house now.

I remember that technique from back when I was doing my dirt in high school. Doesn't take much to do it, just a little time to learn technique so you are quick at it.
