In that case, Fetzer Gewurtztraminer, Sutter Home Moscato - both cheap and really good.

You cant go wrong bro. Unless you're a wine snob, both of these are perfect.

Get a white or blush. My gf likes the Riesling that was shown above, and you can never go wrong with a White Zinfandel.

**Also, if your girl is going to see the bottle, it will help if there is a cute little animal on it. I guarantee that if the bottle is pretty, she is more likely to like the wine.

She'll want sweet then.

You should go up to the finger lakes up in NY. Watkins Glen area. There are dozens of winerys up there. You can go and taste a bunch and find what kinds you like.

Wines are very complicated.

Hazlitt Red Cat is great with a red pasta dish or steak.
Due Uve is great for chicken or plain pasta with a white/no sauce.

I've had contessa and its nice.

I'm not a fan of sweet wines though. More of a cab drinker.

HOWEVER, one of my all time favorite desert wines is Gamay Rouge by V. Sattui up in Napa. OMG, one of the best wines ever.. Nice, tart, bright and subtle.

I bought 2 cases when I went up in May, and I'm gonna order another 2 cases this week. We just ran out. It's definetly worth ordering a case and trying it out.

Do it Rick.. If you don't like it, I'll buy your unused bottles. h:

I'll try it. I'll order a bottle and if I don't like it I'll give away a few bottles to my friends.

a big bottle can be found usually for under $15

for something a bit more expensive Penfold Bin 142 i think is good for under $20.
I stock up on the Yellow Tail shiraz (1.5L) only 10 dollas a bottle and makes a great table wine. Everyone drinks it and loves it.
