neo geo was arcade quality at home! :crazyr:

the CD-i was a blip on the radar for me.. i don't remember much except reading about it and maybe seeing commercials.. i think it had a really bad zelda game. i also think it was originally marketed as a multimedia system, not so much a gaming system.

you have a good memory!

Do you remember the entertainment "center" that had plug and play, swappable drives?

Literally, you'd remove this DIN shaped section of the box, and plug in the Sega Genesis adapter ... I think there was even a Turbo Grafx swappable drive.

I think it was by Pioneer, but I can't remember. :hs:

Expensive as shit too. I think the LaserActive (w/o Sega Drive) was $1000. Wiki says the Sega Drive was $600.

So, when you think about a 2007 application, the PS3 plays Blu-ray and PS3 games for $600. See, it could be worse. :chuckles:

(What cost $1600 in 1993 would cost $2103.70 in 2005.)
