Default Complicated Laws = Free Calls!

Well, almost free.

Here's the overview, there's a telco in Iowa that found a loophole that you call their number and then dial a supported international number, and you are only charged for the call to Iowa.

They make money because everyone pays a Universal Service Fund on every phone line in the US, this telco gets a part of that because they are considered rural, therefore they qualify for a portion of the Universal Service Fund and it's enough to cover expenses and make a profit.

I don't know anyone overseas so, does me no good.

All the telcos have been ripping us off for years. It costs them fractions of a cent per HOUR to connect your call. It's such a money making business it's scary how much we get ripped off.

and you are just now figuring this out?

Why do you think I feel no shame in using stolen calling card numbers that haven't been issued but are active? because I know the charges are actually swept under the rug once the card number is cancelled.

rofl, there are some digital anserwing services that i've seen that are really screwed up and can patch calls.

i had this one place on the phone, i forget where i think it was the cable company up here, anyway... i hit the pound key with my chin and it asked for a number, so i dialed my cellphone... i got nothing... so i'm like whatever, i continued about my business...

a day later i was like... i wonder if i could have hit 9 or soemthing for an outside line... so i called again and sure enough i hit 9+ my phone number and i got connected... it's was messed up
