my mouse pointer just randomly jumps across the screen.... :ugh:

and when it does, its always toward the minimize/restore/close at the top right, the start menu, or if i am just at the desktop, it goes to one of the icons...

My laptop touch pad does that shit and it pisses me off!

If you have a cheep optical mouse it will pick up anything you roll it over causing it to jump .
I dont know what to tell you about the laptop.
I stick to "old" ball type mouses

A laser-tracking mouse (like the new one I have here) doesn't have this problem.
