Default stopping trunk rattle?

Hey, I know people aren't too fond of me around here. But i just put in my system and i put in dynomat too. However my trunk still rattles kinda bad on the sides. I've read that egg carton stuff (the stuff that goes under your matress) helps a lot. Anyone have expierience with stopping trunk rattle. Thanks.

swap out your heavy subs for 1 8" or 10" and call it a day. no more trunk rattle and you dont annoy everybody you drive past. you will have plenty of bass for sound quality inside the car. also the reduction in attention whoring will cut back your odds of theft.

but if you dont wanna do that, you can put some dynamat under your license plate, thats where a lot of the rattling comes in. also the frame support for your deck lid will vibrate in some spots. you can shim that or use some foam insulation to absorb the vibrations.

Dynamat, spray foam and a little bit of silicone seal will cure your rattles. It takes time though and as James said the license plate is usually the largest contributor to rattle sounds.

i used some of that spray expanding foam between the panels of my trunk. i also put a piece of dynamt on the backside of my license plate & 1/4-3/8" plastic spacers between the plate & body of the car & that knocked out 90% of the vibration/rattle on mine

find the source of rattle, use foam to stop/reduce it.

a few people have had success using bungee cords to supress trunk lid rattles

Fucking werd. People hear a rattle and go out to buy a Dynamat kit...only to find out their shit still rattles. You have to find out what is causing the rattle first. Then go from there.

...sheet metal flexing?
...panels hitting each other?
...loose panels?

They all can cause a rattle, and they all require a different solution.
