Queens Lawmaker wants to ban pitbulls
My bestfriend has a pitbull and we frequently jog around the park with the dog leashed. I cant believe how many people walk around with their dogs unleashed and then they complain when their dog runs up to another dog and their dog gets chewed up.
One time we were walking the pit and some little shit dog ran out from someones yard UNLEASHED and the pit literally inhaled that poodle into his mouth. (long story )
Now I know there are idiots that dont know how to train/ take care of a pitbull which is why this is effecting the good dog owners..
I hope this doesnt go through.

A Queens lawmaker said Wednesday that he wants to ban pit bulls in New York City.
Councilman Peter Vallone says the breed is a threat to public safety.
His proposal would forbid the breeding or selling of pit bulls in the city, but would allow current owners of the dogs to keep their pets.
Pit bulls account for 15 percent of animal attacks in the city and more are found in animal shelters than any other breed.
Advocates say that the dogs aren't dangerous if they're properly raised and blame irresponsible owners for the breed’s bad reputation.
This news comes as the health department released that pit bulls were the second most popular breed in the city, following Labrador retrievers [pictured above.]retirev
The department also announced that Max was the most popular dog name this year, along with Lucky, Princess, Rocky and Buddy.

It sounds like a good thing to me.
It sucks for people who actually train a pit bull properly like your friend. Unfortunately there are a lot of dumb people in this world. Most pit bull owners fall into the dumb category. That is a bad combination.
I think a better thing would to have owners of pits and other aggressive dogs get a special license to own them.

It only takes a few to ruin the breed's rep. Although there are many responsible owners, it's the few morons that make this kind of law happen.
If banning pitbulls will save a mauling or death, so be it. Human life > animal life.
