It's not 3 way split total, it's 3 way split from the single cable going to my room. I'm sure it's a 5 way split from the box, then 3 way in my room. I'm not going to call the cable company, because I didn't have the problem with the 2 way split in my room, and all the other tv's are fine.

on the splitter.... there are 2 legs that say -7dB, and one that says -3.5dB

try placing the TV on the 3.5 leg and compare it to what it was when you had the 2 way spliter.... if its still worse, then the splitter is bad.

5-900mhz.

also, my tv channels in the high range are clear, its the lower channels that look like crap. the guy at lowes told me that has to do with using the middle of the coaxial cable for lower, and the outer part for higher channels?

cheap splitters ftl.

a 2 way splitter has a 3.5 db drop on both legs

a 3 way splitter is basically a 2 way, with another 2 way on one of the legs, so you have a 3.5 drop on one, and a total of 7 db drop each on the 2nd and 3rd leg.

you can try a low loss splitter..... or you can try calling your cable company and ask them.
