Singleplayer: Gears of War is a fantastically fun game, while it lasts. Short and short on plot.

Hmm...well once I get the 360 I think I will rent it first. I tend to play more single player and multiplayer offline than anything online.

Same here. The only online multiplayer series that's hooked into me well was Battlefield. I always feel cheated when a game gives me like a 6 hour single player experience

Yeah ok I will pass, in fact I will probably rent most games before I buy them because I hate getting stroked for that much cash for a shortlived product.
Does it at least have multiplayer splitscreen?

Yes, and it does it well. In fact, the coop single player campaign, what I got to play some of, was very, very fun.
