Depends on the company. Some only do payouts on certain dates.

i guess what i'm getting at is let's say i goto bestbuy & buy something. they run my card & the purchase IMMEDIATELY takes the $$$ out of my account.

now let's say i return that item.....they now have possession of the item, so why isn't it possible for my $$$ to be debited back to my account IMMEDIATELY??? i mean come on, it's all just an electronic debit & credit. seems like if they can move the $$$ one way instantly they should be able to move it back the same......

I want to know the same thing. I have a $30 refund that supposedly will be refunded to me in the next 7-10 business days. WTF? How come its got to take that long?

It's possible. But like everything, there is a reason.

I'm sure the company's figure interest off your money, and the CC company looks at it as a convince for you to charge something. I have no concrete answer for you, other than it would be possible for you to get the money back immediately.

Do you have a sign hanging in your head that says "space for rent"?
