Day 3, and I still am of the opinion that I like other people's dogs and could never deal with having my own. These are really well behaved dogs too.

I woke up today at about 8:15 and went down the hall to take a leak. When I came out of the bathroom I got hounded for attention. Jumping up, trying to play, violently wagging their tails smacking em into the walls in the hall. I had them stay and went back to bed.

My mom knocks on my door about an hour later saying what her plans were for the day, and asks me to either walk the dogs or put them out in the yard. Sorry, no taking doggies for a walk for me, out in the yard they went. While they were out there I tried to read the newspaper, but after about 10 minutes they wanted back in, so I let them in and they went straight back to hounding me for attention.

I came up to my room to read the online edition of the Post, and of course the dogs followed. I paid them halfway attention while trying to read the paper, but then they started fighting over who got petted more, and I sent them both out of my room and closed the door. Now I'm covered in slobber and at least one of them is sitting outside the door whining trying to get me to let them back in.

Yeah, I'll stick to cats.

when you say you sent them out of the room, can you just tell them to leave?

go walk the dogs, they'll love it and might get tired and not bother you when you get back

Yeah they're well trained. I point out of the room and say scram, and they leave. My mom used to be all about bossing my brother and I around but now she has directed that energy into the dogs. They respond much better to that sort of thing.

They got plenty tired running around in the back yard, now they're keeping themselves entertained. I am just not a dog person. I can take them in limited doses when they're calm, but the high-strung running jumping barking "hey play with me NOW!" part is not something I am a fan of at all.

Molly and Dinah in their natural habitat:

Also Jazzy, the family cat, has been neglected picture wise.

Dare I say it...she's having a cat scan? :chuckles:
